Intro to Revelation
Revelation is one of the most talked about books in the Bible. Unfortunately, most of the things we hear about the book have little basis in the Bible. John was told that the events in Revelation would fulfill the mystery of God has it had been revealed to his servants, the prophets.
If we use the historical, social, and political settings in the first century as well as the writings of the prophets, we can come to the same understanding of the book of Revelation as Christians did in the first century. We should not be interested in the latest slant on the book; we want to know the ancient understanding!
